As we wrapped up our studies of the Renaissance, students enjoyed experimenting with fresco - a technique that was used by many artists of the time. We quickly learned that it is a messy and sometimes frustrating process, but we're very proud of our results!
We were also very fortunate to create our own Renaissance inspired sketches with Mr. Woodruff.
We have been hard at work reading and writing about the Italian Renaissance. Students are gaining an understanding of the humanistic point of view and are beginning to recognize the great impact that the Greeks and Romans had on our lives. We will wrap up our unit by creating a biography of a Renaissance artist in addition to a mural to honor the times (with the help of Miss Evans!).
